4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:
- Hosts: When you book a stay, adventure, rental, or event, the host receives your name, contact details, and booking information necessary to fulfil the booking.
- Travelers (applicants): When you apply for an opportunity, the host receives your profile and application data.
- Find Companions: Your companion post and public profile are visible to other registered users. Private contact details are shared only with mutual consent.
- Trusted service providers: Hosting, analytics, payment gateways, and customer support tools (under data processing agreements).
- Legal authorities: When required by applicable law or valid legal process.
- Successors: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred to the new entity.
5. Cookies & Device Identifiers
We use cookies for session management and to personalize content. Additionally, we store a randomly generated device fingerprint in your browser's localStorage (key: _trippeaze_device_id). This ID is used solely to associate your browser with active refresh tokens, improving session security and preventing unauthorized token reuse. It is not linked to your identity and is not shared with third parties. You can clear it by clearing your browser's site data.
You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect functionality.
6. AI Trip Planning
Our "Plan a Trip" feature uses AI to generate itineraries based on your inputs (destination, duration, interests, budget). The inputs you provide are processed to generate suggestions. We may retain anonymized prompt data to improve the AI model. We do not share identifiable trip plans with third parties. AI-generated itineraries are suggestions only — TrippEaze is not responsible for any decisions made solely based on AI output.
7. Data Retention
- Account data is retained while your account is active and for up to 2 years after deletion, for legal compliance.
- Booking records are retained for 5 years for financial and legal compliance.
- Identity verification documents are retained for the duration required by applicable law and deleted upon verified request.
- Device IDs stored in localStorage persist until you clear your browser's site data.
8. Your Rights
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time
- Request a portable copy of your data
To exercise your rights, contact us at contact@trippeaze.com.
9. Third-Party Links
Our platform may include links to third-party websites (e.g., external event organizers, blog references). We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to persons under 18. Users under 18 must have parental consent before using the platform. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information without consent, contact us immediately.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the site. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
